Every Day is Grocery Day

Every day CAN BE a grocery day for me because I work in the MALL. Yes, I do and it’s fun.

First, because it’s always cold, (lol!); second, because every time you or any member of your family needs anything, you can buy it after office hours; third, because you”re always updated with the new SALE and PROMOTION and finally because every day is grocery day.
Before I was assigned in the MALL BRANCH of the tutorial center where I work for, SUNDAY was my grocery day. I normally bring my kids along with me as a kind of BONDING. Now, I do it on SATURDAY after office hours so I can stay with my kids the whole day on Sunday. Do I enjoy grocery time? YES and NO..
‘Yes’, because it’s a kind of stress-relieving activity and ‘No’, because aside from its being too tiring, it’s a kind of ORDEAL to buy everything my family needs with a very small amount of money, lol!
Happy MM!

All Things Bright and Beautiful

My favorite poem of all times…
All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small
All things wise and wonderful
The Lord GOD made them all

Each little flower that opens
Each little bird that sings
God made their glowing colors
And made their tiny wings

The purple-headed mountains
The river running by
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky

The cold wind in the winter
The pleasant summer sun
The ripe fruits in the garden
God made them every one

GOD gave us eyes to see them
And lips that we might tell
How great is GOD almighty
Who has made all things well

RAPA-NUI

My pick for this week’s theme is RAPA-NUI. This movie is based on the legend of the Easter Island in Chile and the existence of several giant monoliths on the island.

According to the movie, the monoliths were erected by the “Short Ears” or the slaves in the local tribe in the island called RAPA-NUI.
The people of the island were divided into two sects, the ‘Long Ears’ or the ruling sect and the ‘Short Ears’ or the slaves. Noro (Jason Scott Lee) was a member of the Long Ears. He fell in love with Ramana (Sandrine Holt) who was a member of the ‘Short Ears’ sect.
In order for Noro to marry Ramana, she must stay in an isolated cave for six months while Noro, must win in an annual ritual against Make (Esai Morales), a member of the ‘Short Ears’ sect who was also in love with Ramana. The ritual involves a dangerous race along rocky cliffs and through shark-infested waters to retrieve the first eggs from a sacred bird hatchery offshore.
RAPA-NUI is a movie about love, adventure and legend…

A Matter of Acceptance

T kim

Kiko* is 4 years old. He is an active boy, a VERY active one. He was brought to us last year for tutorial. It seems like he couldn’t cope with the lessons like other boys his age. But we felt that the problem was MORE than that.

Kiko can’t keep still. He has no eye contact. He doesn’t talk. He may repeat what another person says but he can’t identify an object when he is shown one. I wanted to ask his mom if they considered having him checked, luckily, his school teacher, who happens to be a friend of mine, beat me to it.

The teacher explained to mom all the things that I have just said. She also tried to make mom understand that she wants what is best for Kiko and that we are all doing our best.

With this, mom, with a lovely smile on her face, simply said.. “But he’s ok, right?” obviously missing the point the teacher was trying to say.

Now, Kiko is 4, talks very little, runs much and still has no eye contact. Much as we wanted to help him, we’re not the right people and the right institution to do it…

The Clubhouse

We haven’t been going out to parks lately. First, because I can’t take the kids by myself as my husband is working abroad and second, I have only one day off from work and I normally spend it at home (with the kids) to rest.
Luckily, we have in our subdivision, a CLUBHOUSE which has a small playground. This is where my kids go to and the closest we have to a park.
Happy Mommy Moments everyone!

The Difference

I found this prayer from a card inserted in a book I bought from BOOKSALE. The prayer is so beautiful that I want to share it to everybody. The author, however, is unknown..

THE DIFFERENCE
I got up early one morning
and rushed right into the day
I had so much to accomplish
that I didn’t have time to pray

Problems just tumbled about me
and heavier came each task;
“Why doesn’t GOD help me?” I wondered
He said, “But you didn’t ask.”

I wanted to see joy and beauty
but the day toiled on, gray and bleak;
I wondered why GOD didn’t show me
He said, “But you didn’t seek.”

I tried to come into GOD’s presence;
I used all my keys at the lock
GOD gently and lovingly chided
“My child, you didn’t knock.”

I woke up early this morning
And paused before entering the day
I had so much to accomplish
That I had to take time to pray

STARDUST

My post for this week’s theme is STARDUST.. Well, honestly, I’m fond of fantasy films, lol! I go for Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Inkheart, Chronicles of Narnia and the likes..

Stardust is about a magical and mythical world unknown to men. A place of kings and princes, of witches and enchanted birds.. This is where Tristan (Charlie Cox) was born. A son of a princess and an ordinary man, he was brought up by his father. All his life, he lived as an ordinary guy, unaware of his true heritage. He was in love with Victoria and was dared to get a fallen star for her as a birthday present.
The fallen star happened to be Yvaine (Claire Danes). Besides Tristan, she was also sought by the sons of the king who just died. The princes were fighting over the throne after their father’s death and whoever gets the fallen star and use her cosmic powers has a claim to the throne.
In addition, the fearsome witch Lamia (Michelle Pfeiffer) who believes that the fallen star’s power can give her eternal youth and beauty, was also after her…
Also starring Robert de Niro, Stardust is a tale of adventure and true love..

Idle?

Well, I know I’ve been idle these past few weeks.. there’s no justification for that and I do apologize for not visiting back those bloggers who visit me regularly. I’m sorry guys! I’ll try to make up to you!

Rides on Amusement Centers

Much as I would like to post any recent pictures of my children in the amusement center, we don’t have any because we haven’t been going to amusement centers lately..

But because I like to join this week’s MM (lol!), I made this post.
If we were to go to the amusement center any time now, my children especially Daryl, would surely love to ride, of course, the carousel. Mika and Candid would enjoy the roller coaster and all of us may ride the train.

A League of Their Own

My pic for this week’s theme is kind of old. Starring Geena Davis (playing Dottie Henson) and Tom Hanks (playing Jimmy Dugan), A League of Their Own is a story about Dottie and Kit, sisters living in a farm somewhere in Oregon and were given a chance to play in the professional baseball league.

It was during World War II and American men were sent to war, so the All American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) was founded. It is about two sisters, what the older one can do for the younger and how far the younger will go to be out of the older’s shadow.
Also starring Madonna, A League of Their Own is one great film about sportsmanship, friendship and love..
