Could Not Buy Consideration
As one of those companies that offer services instead of goods, we normally advise our clients to call us first for an appointment as we prepare our everyday schedule ahead of time. That is to avoid not being able to accommodate a new arrival in case the teacher is already engaged in a class.
Last month, our Math teacher, Teacher Rob, filed a leave of absence. So, his schedule was cancelled. But we contacted the main office to lend us another Math teacher, in case of special appointments.
On the second day of his leave, one of his regular students, Jana*, a grade 2 pupil, and her mother showed up and the mom demanded that the child be taught that day. We were surprised because Jana was not in the schedule. So, we asked the mom if she placed a call before they came over, because if she did, we could have informed her that Teacher Rob would not be in on that day, but she said, they are regular clients, why does she need to call first?
So, we patiently explained that Teacher Rob is not around, but if it’s okay with her we could ask for another teacher from the main office and have Jana scheduled the following day in case it’s a kind of emergency, a Math contest or something, though it was actually Christmas vacation.
The mom didn’t want any of that. She told us to call Teacher Rob and have him come or give his cellphone number to her so she can call him herself. So, we said we’re not allowed to give out our employees’ cellphone numbers unless with consent.
Furious and disappointed, she dragged Jana away from our center murmuring about incompetent employees and having money to pay for the services.
It is true that we offer our services, but we don’t offer our services ALL THE TIME. We are ordinary people. We can choose to work as much as we can choose to rest. We are not slaves of clients who just happen to have more money than we make with out meager salaries. Maybe they have money, but they couldn’t buy KINDNESS and CONSIDERATION and any other virtue that makes a person.. A PERSON.

MM: Family Picture
Since my husband works abroad, we don’t have any family photo except those we have last Christmas with only me and my three kids. I apologize, though, of the quality of the pictures. They were taken in the living room where the fluorescent just gave out that night, lol!

An entry for
The Independent Learner
Princess* was almost 4 years old when she enrolled in my class. She is a very pretty girl but very playful and unsociable. Worse than that, she wasn’t talking yet. She mumbled some senseless syllables but since she has no eye contact I couldn’t tell if she was talking to me.
I learned that her parents, a surgeon and an anesthesiologist, and she used to live abroad where the parents were both working in a hospital. Princess was usually left with her nanny when her parents were at work.
Despite her inability to talk with me, Princess proved to be very sweet and nice. She always smiles and always holds my hand. She likes picture books. I also learned that her room is filled with books and various colorful charts. Though I couldn’t make her sit and work, she seemed to be enjoying the program. In fact she didn’t even miss a class.
After her program I didn’t see Princess for quite a while. So, I was surprised when I received a call from our formal school asking me for my recommendation as Princess’ mother was there and scheduled her for assessment for the kindergarten. I gave my most objective assessment of Princess’ performance in my class and wished the little girl luck.
So, I was extremely surprised when I received a call from the school to tell me that my patience paid off. Princess passed the assessment and that she even got a perfect score. She was able to identify all the shapes, colors and the letters in the alphabet.
Delighted as I was, I didn’t deny my surprise so I asked the principal how Princess got a perfect score. The principal told me that the little girl might be an ‘independent learner’ that is, she learns by herself. She learns by what she hears, and sees. But she also told me that my patience and encouragement helped Princess to use what she has in her room to learn by herself.
I was totally amazed. Princess may not have needed me to learn but she needed me to be JUST THERE for her..

Weigh To Go
About a decade ago, I only weighed 42 kilograms. As the years passed, I became heavy, and then heavier and heavier that right now, I don’t even want to look at a weighing scale, lol!
The funny thing is that I know just what to do to lose weight. As a matter of fact I did it about 4 years ago. I lost so much weight that it seemed to be to good to be true at the time. But yes, I did it. And I’m still not losing hope that I can do it again. With balanced diet, regular exercise and weight loss supplement like irvingiappress I know I’ll be on my way to that desired weight. All it takes is a firm heart and a consistent mind..
That Body
It is every woman’s dream to have that gorgeous looks and shapely body. Do you ever wonder why?
It is a common impression that women work hard for ‘that body’ so as to attract the opposite sex. But I think there is more to it than that. There is far more important reason why women are dying to have that perfect fit.
It has something to do with confidence. Women in general, though not all, are more confident if they think that they look good and presentable enough. They tend to be more outspoken and assertive therefore accomplish more than is expected.
There is nothing wrong with being plump. But if you can have the body that you really want then so much the better. And if you are one of those women who believe that you can have that body if you really want it, click here.
Live Healthy
I live a very stressful life. I have a full time job as a teacher and I am a part time blogger. My bills pile on the table and my children and I live as frugally as we can. With this kind of life that I have, I simply can’t afford to get sick. And the idea of staying in bed is just so not enticing.
So, to maintain my good health, I follow these basic rules. I eat fruits and vegetables. I drink a lot of water the whole day and a glass of milk at night, I sleep early and rise early, I walk two miles a day and I take multiple vitamins.
Health is wealth. We only have one body so we might as well love it..
