Happy Birthday To My Sister, Liz!

This is my sister Liz, a faithful wife, a loving mom, a good daughter, a devoted sister, a dedicated blogger and a Facebook addict. How she manages to do all of them, I do not know. Maybe she is good in multitasking, that is better than I am three times over. Among her blogs are This is My Life, Rodliz Nest, Kidz Power, My Home Kitchen and Garden, My Thoughts My Words, Soda and Popcorn and Health Is Wealth.

This was she when she was in grade 3, I guess. She was wearing her popular pair of white sandals..

This was 1n 1988, she was in 2nd year college and I was in 2nd year high school.

This was in 1993, when she was working as a part time service crew in Mc Donalds..

This was sometime during her first few years in the US.

For other bloggers, she may just be one of those who blog for fun, for extra income or for gossip. But for me, she is MY MENTOR in blogging. She is not the best teacher ever, but I learned to blog nonetheless, lol!

She is my best friend and I have every reason to believe I am hers, after all, I’m the only sister she got, lol! I may be a pain in the neck sometimes, but she knows I always look up to her.

And for her birthday on April 01, this is my message…

‘Tol, yung mga naiwan mong scented candles ginamit ko nung brown out, so ubos na. Tapos yung mga naiwan mong china wares dito nabasag na ni daryl yung iba. Yung TV wala ng sound, yung washing machine ayaw na umandar ng dryer, yung kalan tanggal na yung pihitan, tapos yung indusrial fan ayaw na umikot, so naka-steady na lang. Pundido na rin yung mg ilaw sa CR..’

Siyempre naman JOKE yan.. eto seryoso na..

‘Happy birthday! You ROCK! Grabe hindi halatang 47 ka na, mukha ka lang 45, hehe…’

HAPPY __th BIRTHDAY!!!

Thanks, Ma

I was chatting with my sister last night and I learned that my mother, who used to live with her, already moved with my aunt in Illinois. We do believe it was better for her to stay there.

I also found out that she sent some money to help for my eldest daughter’s enrollment in college. I was so touched. Until now, my mother always thinks of my and my family’s welfare. Maybe that’s what mothers really are for. They never stop thinking, loving and caring for us. So, I was thinking of what to give her on Mother’s Day. It must be a gift mothers would surely like. It must be something  my mother deserves. Wonderful mothers deserve wonderful things..

Busy Mommy, Busy Son

A mom inquired about our reading program for the summer. Since we have various programs for different levels and ages, I volunteered to assess the reading skills of the boy to find out which program is right for him. I found out that he already knows all the letters of the alphabet. So, I told mom which program to enroll him to.

She brought out her wallet and asked when the boy would start, so we answered ‘on April 4.’ She was aghast. She asked for a sooner schedule but we said that was the soonest as we are still waiting for some more enrollees. So, she asked if the boy could avail of the tutorial instead of the class. We said we don’t offer tutorial on summer as we need to accommodate as many enrollees as we can (parents normally take advantage of the summer to enroll their children for extra lessons).

She put up her hands in desperation and said…

‘What are the other programs? Give him any program. Give him anything you got. Anything that will keep him out of the house. I don’t want him around the house. I couldn’t stand having him in the house. He’s a menace…’

I was shocked. Here I am, dying to be with my children every minute of my life and there she is, couldn’t stand two weeks with her 5-year old boy. I was not able to answer right away. That was one of the very rare moments that I couldn’t find anything to say. So, our officer-in-charge took over and said that all of our programs will start in April.

Accepting defeat, she borrowed a pen and filled out the enrollment form. She paid in full and with a smile in her beautiful face thanked us and told us that maybe she would enroll the boy to swimming lessons first, and then they walked away…

As they went, the boy knocked down some of the books in display and stuck out his tongue at us.. Uh-oh! Nice summer ahead..

MM: White

Of all the colors that we featured here in Mommy Moments, white,  I think,  is the easiest to post. My kids wear white almost ALL THE TIME, lol!

These are my children: Candid, Mika and Daryl in their most ordinary and almost everyday looks.

I always clothe my children with white since they were babies, white shirts, white PJ’s and even white dresses. I find white garments neat, cool and comfortable.

I always wear white shirts myself, and so does my husband.

Maybe I could say white is my family’s favorite color..

Cutie in Green

This is my daughter, Mika, during their Field Day last week. Is it obvious that she had so much fun?

Getting Ready

A few more days and it’s my eldest daughter’s graduation from high school. She is sure to graduate of course. What bothers me most is what to wear. Honestly, I don’t have much to choose from, just the usual office clothes that I wear at work. So, this is really a problem for me.

I actually tried to buy from the department store last week, but believe it or not, that was even more difficult. I couldn’t find something that fits me. Yes, I’ve grown big, as in really big.  Can you imagine how frustrating it was? There you were, with money and all, ready to pay for anything that would do, but nothing..

I didn’t realize it would be this difficult to gain much weight. I think it’s about time to use Lipofuze..

Cuties at The Mall

I know this is a very late post for Valentine. I was about to post this last February, unfortunately, my daughter, Mika, misplaced our card reader, so I was not able to upload the pictures from my cellphone to the laptop.

Regardless, aren’t they cute?

Cool Smoke

It has been a long time since I smoked and I haven’t touched a cigarette for about 3 years now. Well, the good thing is I don’t miss it and I don’t feel a strong longing for it.

Though every now and then I feel the urge to light a stick, I still haven’t felt the need to go back to my former vice. And if I were to smoke again, I would like to try something new. Maybe I would buy padron cigars to find out for myself what makes them so special.

I know I wouldn’t be disappointed. Just a stick of Pardon Cigars gives an impression of class and taste. That would give me a different smoking experience..

Single and Searching

My friend and colleague Hanna is pretty, smart and talented. She is our preschool teacher, and she really is a good one. At 37, she doesn’t look her age. In fact, she just seems to be in her mid 20s. Needless to say, she is still single. I asked her one time if she really preferred it that way. She answered that of course she wants to find someone who could fill the hollow part in her life, only that in our line of work, it isn’t that easy.

You see, we work 6 days a week and the only day off he have, we spend sleeping, watching DVD and doing the laundry, absolutely no time for a romantic love. So, when I found out about these dating sites, she was the first one I told it about. Well, there’s no harm in trying, right?
